You and the power of water in 2017 …

Today is about your health, your energy and changing both in 90 seconds. So what is one simple step you can take that quickly, to begin fixing a key category in your Wheel of Life?

Yesterday we looked at the Wheel of Life, originating in Buddha’s time and modified by the western world in our time, to be used as an important self-improvement coaching tool. Health and energy are both key to your Wheel of Life.

What consistently amazes me is how compartmentalized people feel they have to live each day. The reality is, at any given moment, you are still the sum of the pieces of your life. They don’t stop existing when you are focused on a particular thing at the moment, whether it’s work, relationships or something else.

Your wheel is ALWAYS with you. Your wheel is exactly who you are at this time and you have the power to change pieces of your wheel by taking small steps if you need to, to begin.

If you’re good to go, drinking 16 ounces of water right now is a huge gift to you and your body, promoting youthful cells, brain power, energy and the happiness that comes with all three. Drinking 16 ounces takes roughly 90 seconds to do. This is a typical water bottle size. Feel free to take longer if you need to. Drinking ice water also burns a few more calories, as your body increases its metabolism to process the cold water.

Understand this, small powerful changes, can change your life FAST.

Drinking more water daily is a small, powerful change which can make you physically look better (especially in your face and eyes) and feel energized too.

Remember the following declaration from Step 1?

“I COMMIT to improving myself and my life — and I WILL LEARN HOW.”

Commit to it!

Most people think habit is an action. Ultimately it is, but first it begins with a decision.

Here are some facts about water in your body:

  • Roughly 60 percent of your body is water.
  • Your blood is 83 percent water.
  • Your 15 billion brain cells are mostly water (over 70% of your brain)
  • Your bones are roughly 22 percent water.
  • Without moving much, you can easily lose up to 10 cups of water daily through sweat, urine, even breathing.
  • You can lose 2 percent of your body weight in fluids before you even begin to feel thirsty. – Eat & Heal, Editors of FC & A Medical Publishing

What are you changing by drinking water?

The short answer is the molecular health of your entire body. Dehydration, even at a minimal level, shows in your skin and impacts everything from your energy to your eye strength, brain performance, regular body function and weight loss/gain. Water flushes your body, removing toxins and replenishing cells, keeping them fresh and happy. Feeling tired and drained? Chances are, you’re lacking water.

How about water with lemon or lime daily?

Even better. Water with some natural lemon or lime juice is natural liver ‘detox’and helps you maintain a healthy acid/alkaline balance in your body. Though lemon and lime are both acidic as we know it, once they’re in your body, they join the alkaline team. Google search to learn more about heavily acidic diets (of milk, dairy, sugar, meats, alcohol, etc.) and their possible contribution to illness. This research especially targets the holidays, when acidic diets full of big meals, sweets and alcohol are the norm. The general thinking is illness like colds, flu and other ailments don’t materialize or last as long in an alkaline body, but do thrive and last longer in an acidic one.

How much water should you drink daily?

That depends. Check with your doctor and follow their advice. Some say, take half your body weight and drink that same weight in ounces daily, over morning, noon and night time frames. (e.g., 70 lbs. is half your weight, meaning you should drink 70 ounces of water daily)
